Lisa Venables was born in Queensland and grew up in Canberra where she completed her Bachelor of Arts. In 2000 she joined the NSW Police where she served for 10 years in General Duties, Organized Crime and Intelligence. In 2009 her daughter Zali was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer with no prognosis of recovery. Her memoir Saving Zali is the story of how the remarkable Doctors at Westmead Childrens Hospital found the cure and saved Zali.
Lisa now lives on the Central Coast of NSW and loves every day of her beachy lifesyle.
