Loubna was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and migrated to Australia with her family at the age of fourteen. She wrote and read a short story for ABC radio called ‘My Mother the Carmelite’. In 2000, Loubna won a Varuna Writers’ Fellowship which allowed her to work on Seducing Mr Maclean, her first novel.
