Coral Browne left Australia in 1934 at age 21 having already made a big name in that country on stage with JC Williamson Limited. She went to London with a return boat ticket, to try her luck. She had a string of lovers and was simply outrageous. She was ultra-glamorous, had a razor wit and was a friend and confidant of, and sometimes slept with, the most important people in theatre. She won two BAFTA Awards for Best Actress plus numerous other Awards in Europe and the USA.
It is all here in the book together with as many of the “Coral Browne stories” as it has been possible to collect. An astute businesswoman, she died in 1991 a multi-millionaire, to the astonishment of Vincent Price, her second husband, who had no idea that his wife was so wealthy.
