A brutal serial killer known as the East End Slasher is stalking the streets of London. Each victim is horribly mutilated and branded with the sign of a cross, a sign that another disciple has been claimed. As the bloody trail of violence and depravity continues, it is up to Detective Inspector Clive Johnson to solve the case – and save his career.
In desperation, Johnson turns to an FBI criminal profiler for help. Working closely with the press, through ambitious journalist Dan Hyde, the police tighten the net around the Slasher but the killer manages to stay one step ahead. Dan’s photographer girlfriend, Tracy Preston, becomes caught up in the terror as the body count rises and the city becomes paralysed with fear.
